Repairs by material

Quartz

Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Pan burns, chipped edges and knife scratches make up most of our worktop work. All are repaired in place. We work on granite & marble, solid surface (such as Corian) and solid wood, and people most frequently call us about a heat mark or burn and a dent from a dropped pan.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Churchend questions

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Do you come to Churchend?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Churchend and the rest of Gloucestershire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you cover the entire of Gloucestershire?

We cover the whole UK, including Churchend and the rest of Gloucestershire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

Yes. We recreate the pattern by hand so it blends in.

What we are called out for in Churchend

Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Scratches and knife marks
  • Chipped corners
  • Dents and gouges
  • A heat mark or burn

What your quote should include

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • What preparation is included
  • Whether they match the colour on site

How to compare quotes

What happens on the day

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a morning or an afternoon. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. We cut back any burnt or loose material.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The type of damage
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Access to the area
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire worktop

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace in Churchend?

Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • No extra charge for your area

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
