Worktop repair for Fort William homes

Worktop repair in Fort William without replacing anything

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: laminate is filled and patterned, quartz and stone are filled and polished, and wood is sanded and refinished. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We are frequently asked to fix chips caused during installation and damage to a stone worktop, on solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and granite & marble.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

Before and after: damaged granite tiles repaired in place

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and reconnecting the sink and hob, and it may not match the rest of the kitchen. A repair leaves the worktop in place. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Our hiring checklist

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire worktop, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Questions from Fort William

How much does worktop repair cost in Fort William?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your PH33 postcode.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, so Fort William is covered. Prices don’t change with location.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Different materials, different repairs

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
