About our worktop repair in Gilshochill
A worktop repair is carried out in your kitchen, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most jobs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. Our repair technicians work on solid wood, solid surface (such as Corian) and quartz, and common reasons people get in touch are a dent from a dropped pan and a damaged sink edge.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

For landlords and businesses
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Gilshochill use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and refitting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. Repairing the damage keeps your existing worktop. Our worktop repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The colour and finish to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Gilshochill. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- Natural light rather than flash
- One picture of the whole worktop
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Where you are, by postcode
For a price in Gilshochill, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Repairs by material

FAQs for Gilshochill
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can a quartz edge be fixed?
Yes, often. The repair is colour-matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
What happens next?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
How the visit works
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.
- First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
- We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
- A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Open a window if you can

Advice
Aftercare tips
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Dry around the sink and joints
- Don’t cut directly on the worktop
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Watch the edges with heavy pans
Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.
Daily use can make burns and chips worse, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When we would advise against a repair
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- A top that moves on its units
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.
