Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Holyrood, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll price them together.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Holyrood as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

About our worktop repair in Holyrood

A damaged worktop doesn’t have to mean a new kitchen. We fill and refinish the damage to blend into the surface around it. Common call-outs are for chips on edges and corners and burns from hot pans, across granite & marble, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian).

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Holyrood. The price depends on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The type of damage
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the whole worktop
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Make sure the area is dry

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

10 questions to ask before you book

Holyrood: your questions answered

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back. There is no obligation to book.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Just near the damage. The rest of the kitchen stays usable.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Edinburgh.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

Yes. We recreate the pattern by hand so it blends in.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Different materials, different repairs

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, with burns and dents put right.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. We match the repair to your worktop as it is today. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Holyrood. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • A fixed quote before you book

Read our prices page.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When a repair is not the answer

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
