Worktop repair at your home in Newent

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. The goal is always a repair that blends in. Common call-outs are for scratches and knife marks and snagging damage in a new kitchen, in solid surface (such as Corian), solid wood and laminate.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Keep joints and edges dry
  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Don’t leave spills to soak in

Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards are your best protection.

Do not leave damage by the sink, as water can get in and cause swelling.

What your worktop is made of matters

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.

Solid surface

Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can frequently be sanded out and refinished.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • Water-swollen laminate
  • A top that moves on its units

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Solid wood

Common problems we fix in Newent

The worst damage frequently happens in a moment: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up gradually from knives and grit.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Knife marks
  • Dents and gouges
  • Burns from hot pans
  • Chips on edges and corners

What affects the price in Newent

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One picture of the whole worktop
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why Newent customers choose us

  • No need to remove anything
  • Colour-matched on site
  • No extra charge for your area
  • We leave the room as we found it

Read our pricing.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
