Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, and burns and dents repaired.

About our worktop repair in Park Bottom

You don’t need a new worktop because of one mark. The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the pattern. We are frequently asked to fix dents and gouges and burns from hot pans, across quartz, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian).

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

How we price worktop repair

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Park Bottom. The price depends on:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Getting a price from photos

Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Where you are, by postcode

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire worktop, we can price the job without visiting.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal or finish the area to match.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Ask for a price

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, with your TR15 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A cracked stone top that’s unsupported
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
  • A top that moves on its units

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Laminate

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges

Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse, especially near the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Park Bottom: your questions answered

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.

Do you come to Park Bottom?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Park Bottom. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Do you cover the entire of Cornwall?

Across the UK. Prices do not change with location.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. Chips on edges and around the sink are very common repairs, filled and polished to match.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Cornwall.

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Park Bottom

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
