Trusted worktop repair in Pennance

About our worktop repair in Pennance

You do not need a new worktop because of one mark. The damage is filled and refinished to blend into the surface around it. Typical jobs include scratches and knife marks and a dent from a dropped pan, in granite & marble, solid surface (such as Corian) and solid wood.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Never put hot pans down directly
  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans

Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe spills immediately, and keep wooden tops oiled.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Pennance

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Different materials, different repairs

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. The repair is filled and polished to the stone’s finish.

Wood

Timber tops can be sanded and refinished, and burns and dents repaired.

Should you replace it?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What worktop repair costs

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size

For a price in Pennance, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
