Worktop repair in Rawcliffe Bridge without replacing anything

A new worktop rarely matches the old one, especially in an L-shaped or long kitchen. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. We regularly repair solid wood, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian), and the jobs we see most are chips near the sink and scorch marks from pans.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Before and after: damaged granite tiles repaired in place

Repair or replace: which is better?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing a section takes time and money. A repair takes a few hours. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • One price list for the whole UK

How to care for the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Don’t leave spills to soak in
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Edge chips can get bigger, and water can reach the core of laminate. Repairing it early stops that.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Water-swollen laminate

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz
  • Laminate

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. We seal and polish it to the right sheen.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What worktop repair costs

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What your worktop is made of matters

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.
