Should you replace it?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire worktop, we can price the job without visiting.

Advice

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

If you’re in Rew and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Different materials, different repairs

Granite and stone

Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.
