What worktop repair costs
Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Access to the area
- The material and finish
- The colour and finish to match
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed price
Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A wider photo showing the entire worktop
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
For a price in St Briavels, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

FAQs for St Briavels
Which areas do you work in?
All of Gloucestershire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.
Can you match the pattern on my worktop?
Yes, the pattern is built up by hand.
Does someone need to be in?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We come back with a fixed quote, usually with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.
Can you repair a chipped quartz worktop?
Yes. We match the colour and polish the repair.
Landlords, agents and businesses in St Briavels
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in St Briavels use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Repairs by material
Laminate
Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.
Quartz
Quartz is tough, though edges can chip. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished.
The process
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
- Burnt or loose material is cut back.
- We fill and shape the damaged area.
- The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
- We finish it to match the sheen and leave it to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Getting a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.
Advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and often a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
What we cannot put right
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Discolouration deep in quartz
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
