What affects the price in Stryd
Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Stryd. The price comes down to:

- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.
How to get a fixed price
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- One picture of the whole worktop
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Something in shot to show the size
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
How we handle worktop repair in Stryd
A damaged worktop does not have to mean a new kitchen. We fill and refinish the damage to blend into the surface around it. Common call-outs are for gouges in the surface and chips on edges and corners, in granite & marble, solid wood and laminate.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Stryd: your questions answered
What information do you need?
Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
Can you repair a burn in a worktop?
Usually, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Is there a guarantee?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What a repair cannot fix
We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Failed support under the worktop
- Laminate swollen by water from underneath
- Through cracks in stone that is moving
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Granite & marble
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Quartz
- Solid wood
- Laminate
The process
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We protect the rest of the kitchen.
- The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
- It’s filled and levelled with the surface.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- The repair is sealed and polished to match.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
How to get a price
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
Related advice
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Dry around the sink and joints
- Do not knock pans against the edge
Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe spills straight away, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.
Daily use can make burns and chips worse, especially near the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.
Different materials, different repairs
Wood
Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.
Granite and stone
Natural stone worktops chip at edges and around cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.
Landlord and trade work in Stryd
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
Should you replace it?
Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is usually far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Stryd. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
