Should you replace it?

The tray itself may not cost much, but the work around it does: taking out the enclosure, tiling and resealing. A repair is one visit. Our shower tray repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

How to look after the repair

Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:

  • Rinse the tray after each shower
  • Replace failing sealant promptly
  • Don’t stand heavy bottles on the tray
  • Clean with washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Avoid abrasive pads and strong descalers. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water may be getting under the tray, and the damage below is not visible.

Different materials, different repairs

Ceramic

Ceramic trays are hard and glossy. They chip and crack from impact, and the repair is polished to match the shine.

Enamelled steel

Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Exposed metal can rust, so it’s worth repairing early.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • Leaking waste fittings
  • Movement caused by a poor base, until the support is fixed
  • Trays cracked in several places

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Stone resin
  • Enamelled steel
  • Cast iron
  • Ceramic
  • Acrylic

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Wales questions

How do I book?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Rotherham.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

How much does shower tray repair cost in Wales?

Prices start from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Is it OK to use a cracked tray?

Only if you’re sure it isn’t leaking. Look for damp or stains below.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can you resurface a whole tray?

Yes. We can resurface the entire tray for a fresh finish without removing it.

Landlord and trade work in Wales

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Wales use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

How we price shower tray repair

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your S26 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

How the visit works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours for a repair, longer for a full resurface, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We make sure the tray doesn’t flex and look for the cause of any crack.
  2. Next we clean and prepare the tray.
  3. We fill and strengthen any chips or cracks and sand them smooth.
  4. We match the colour, or refinish the full tray.
  5. Once cured, typically by the next day, you can use the shower.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
