After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Every job is backed for twelve months in Ainthorpe and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

DIY repairs versus a professional job

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What affects the price in Ainthorpe

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Ainthorpe questions

Do you work in Ainthorpe?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Ainthorpe from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What information do you need?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

How long does re-enamelling last?

Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Is there a smell?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

How to care for the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse off any bath products.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take most of the day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

How to get a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
