For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Albany use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.
About our bath re-enamelling in Albany
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Common call-outs are for stains that won’t shift and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, in acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath normally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to care for the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Avoid suction-cup mats
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Common problems we fix in Albany
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
People typically call us after spotting something like this:
- Several chips and rust patches
- Wear marks under the taps
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- A coloured bath you want in white

How it works
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a full day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the next day.
How to prepare
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
Ask for a price
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
Advice
What a repair cannot fix
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
