About our bath re-enamelling in Concord

We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Our repair technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and chips and rust in more than one place.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What affects the price in Concord

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Ensure they show:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What happens on the day

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes most of the day. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the day after.

Preparing for the visit

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Concord. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colour-matched on site
  • No extra charge for your area

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Concord

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Will the new finish last?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

Usually, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send pictures.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Concord?

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • Stains that will not shift

Choosing a repair company

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Repair dripping taps early

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
