Bath re-enamelling at your home in Arnprior

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about lots of chips and rust spots and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Arnprior as everywhere else we work.

Common problems we fix in Arnprior

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • Wear marks under the taps

Questions to ask before you book

  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • When it can be used again

Choosing a repair company

Landlord and trade work in Arnprior

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Arnprior: your questions answered

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Will the new finish last?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Do you come to Arnprior?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Arnprior for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes the best part of a day, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Arnprior. What changes the price is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed price

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Most clients in Arnprior get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
