Bath re-enamelling in Ascot, done in place
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. We’re frequently asked to fix stains that won’t shift and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, in Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Ascot
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ascot as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

How the visit works
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow the best part of a day. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the day after.
Before we arrive
- Open a window if you can
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Ascot. The price comes down to:
- The material and finish
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Doing more than one item at once
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Send pictures for a quote
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.
Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Repair dripping taps early
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
What we are called out for in Ascot
Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
Most people contact us when they notice one of these:
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Stains that won’t shift
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
Questions to ask before you book
- How soon you can use it again
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
Common questions in Ascot
How long does re-enamelling take?
Generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Will the new finish last?
Care for it and it lasts. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes, frequently. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Is there any odour?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Is there a smell?
Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
How soon can you come?
We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and normally a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Honest limits
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
