Bath re-enamelling in Auchleven

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Auchleven

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. We work on Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and stains that won’t shift.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Auchleven: your questions answered

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is there a call-out fee?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for the best part of a day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Auchleven

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Honest limits

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • A bath that is rusted through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Auchleven. The price reflects:

  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

If you are in Auchleven and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and don’t leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the following day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.
