About our bath re-enamelling in Beckton

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. We work on cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths, and the jobs we see most are enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a coloured bath you want in white.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It normally takes a full day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

What we can’t put right

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Repair or replace in Beckton?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Beckton. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

For a price in Beckton, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
