Bath re-enamelling at your home in Beer
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Typical jobs include an old resurfacing that’s failing and chips and rust in more than one place, on pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

When to call us in Beer
Often the bath has just had decades of use, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is generally as strong as ever.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Stains that won’t shift
- Wear marks under the taps
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A coating lifting around the plughole
What your quote should include
- How to look after the finish
- When it can be used again
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Beer. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- The material, if you know it
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Beer
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
What a repair can’t fix
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and usually one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse off any bath products.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
What else we do in Beer
What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes the best part of a day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice
FAQs for Beer
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the following day. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
