Bath re-enamelling in Belfast without replacing anything

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Whether it’s an outdated colour you’d like to change and stains that won’t shift, we can generally put it right, on Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and cast iron baths alike.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee in Belfast and the surrounding area.

Should you replace it?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

When to call us in Belfast

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • A roll-top that is seen better days

Before you book anyone

  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What preparation is included
  • How to look after the finish

10 questions to ask before you book

What affects the price in Belfast

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

How it works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take the best part of a day, including clearing up.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Honest limits

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths

Different materials, different repairs

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

For anyone letting property in or around Belfast, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll price them together.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.
