We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

When we’d advise against a repair

We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Bickmarsh

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Bickmarsh as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

When to call us in Bickmarsh

Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.

Common reasons people in Bickmarsh contact us include:

  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

Before booking anyone

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How the colour is matched

Choosing a repair company

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Repair or replace: which is better?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
