Bath re-enamelling in Boreham

Bath re-enamelling in Boreham, done in place

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and people most often call us about a coloured bath you want in white and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Wiltshire.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a bath typically involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

How to look after the repair

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

FAQs for Boreham

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.

Do you cover the whole of Wiltshire?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Boreham. Prices do not change with location.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How do I book?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Boreham

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Boreham use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What happens on the day

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes the best part of a day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Boreham

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Boreham?

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits

Comparing quotes

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Who turns up on the day
