Bath re-enamelling in Bradfield Heath, done in place
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It usually takes one visit, and can be used again the day after. Common call-outs are for wear marks under the taps and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, in basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

Should you replace it?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What a repair cannot fix
In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- A bath split right through the body
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Never use suction bath mats
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Bradfield Heath. The price comes down to:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- What the surface is made of
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking.
Quotes from your photos
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Where you are, by postcode
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Essex and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Bradfield Heath questions
Is there a smell?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Typically, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send pictures.
How do I book?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
What happens if you find more damage?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
What else we do in Bradfield Heath
The process
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a full day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Ensure the area is dry
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
Ask for a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Advice
DIY kit or professional repair?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
