Bath re-enamelling in Bradley Green

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

About our bath re-enamelling in Bradley Green

We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We’re often asked to fix a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and thin, worn enamel in places, in pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Repair dripping taps early

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

What affects the price in Bradley Green

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it

For a price in Bradley Green, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Questions from Bradley Green

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Will the bath be moved?

Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take most of the day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s typically ready the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Repairing versus replacing in Bradley Green

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Bradley Green. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Bradley Green?

Enamel wears gradually. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, generally first under the taps and around the waste.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it

What your quote should include

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Aftercare advice
