Book bath re-enamelling in Brownhill

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Brownhill?

The gloss on enamel is thin, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • A coating lifting around the plughole

Questions to ask before booking

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How soon you can use it again
  • How the colour is matched
  • If travel is included in the price

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Brownhill

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. Whether it’s an old resurfacing that’s failing and stains that won’t shift, we can typically put it right, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths alike.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Brownhill as everywhere else we work.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

FAQs for Brownhill

How long does re-enamelling take?

One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the whole UK, including Brownhill and the rest of Blackburn with Darwen. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

What we do, step by step

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a full day, tidy-up included.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Open a window if you can
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Access to the area
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Getting a price from pictures

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • The material, if you know it
  • Natural light rather than flash

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • A metal bath with a through crack

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Should you replace it?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Brownhill clients choose us
