Bath re-enamelling in Brynmill without replacing anything
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We work on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are an outdated colour you’d like to change and an old resurfacing that’s failing.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repair or replace in Brynmill?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and typically one day, with the bath ready the following day. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Brynmill: your questions answered
Does re-enamelling smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.
Can tenants book a repair?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
What a repair cannot fix
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- A bath split right through the body
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we work on in Brynmill
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
Keeping it looking good
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
