About our bath re-enamelling in Cemaes
Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. Common call-outs are for stains that won’t shift and wear marks under the taps, across basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and cast iron baths.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Honest limits
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Have chips seen to early
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
How the visit works
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Make sure the area is dry

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Cemaes. The price depends on:
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
- How many items we do on one visit
- How easy the damage is to reach
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Send pictures for a quote
Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Natural light rather than flash
Most customers in Cemaes get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
