Need bath re-enamelling in Chuckery?

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Chuckery

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. If you are dealing with thin, worn enamel in places and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, we can help, whatever the material.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes the best part of a day. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Gentle cleaning, no suction mats.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Do you cover Chuckery?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Chuckery for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
