Need bath re-enamelling in Claydon?

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Bath re-enamelling in Claydon, done in place

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Whether it’s an outdated colour you’d like to change and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, we can help, on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What affects the price in Claydon

Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Access to the area
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material and finish
  • The type of damage

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Something in shot to show the size

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

FAQs for Claydon

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do the materials smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

How long is the bath unusable?

Normally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Will the price change on the day?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What happens next?

You will get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A roll-top that is seen better days

What to look for in a quote

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Choosing a repair company

Landlord and trade work in Claydon

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Should you replace it?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Claydon. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • No extra charge for your area

Take a look at our pricing and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a full day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
