Bath re-enamelling in Clough Head

About our bath re-enamelling in Clough Head

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We’re frequently asked to fix staining under the taps and around the waste and wear marks under the taps, in basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

The process

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes the best part of a day. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Never use suction bath mats

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Clough Head. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • The material, if you know it

Most clients in Clough Head get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

When to call us in Clough Head

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

The things clients typically mention when they call include:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

Before booking anyone

  • What prep work is covered
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Who turns up on the day

Choosing a repair company

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Kirklees and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

FAQs for Clough Head

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Clough Head?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Clough Head. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Prices start from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
