Bath re-enamelling near Crimble

Bath re-enamelling in Crimble, done in place

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Common call-outs are for brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, across cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing the bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish without moving it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

What a repair cannot fix

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths

How it works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s typically ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Crimble, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Crimble use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
