About our bath re-enamelling in Cumwhinton
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. We regularly repair acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops, and the jobs we see most are a bath in a colour that no longer suits and stains that won’t shift.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

For landlords and businesses
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
For anyone letting property in or around Cumwhinton, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.
Honest limits
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Keeping it looking good
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Cumwhinton questions
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Cumwhinton?
Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your CA4 postcode.
How soon can you come?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Will the price change on the day?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Cumwhinton. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Cumwhinton. The price reflects:
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The type of damage
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Send photos for a quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:
- Where you are, by postcode
- One picture of the whole bath
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Any details about the material
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
What happens on the day
When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes most of the day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let us know about parking or access
Getting a price
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
