Bath re-enamelling for Didling homes

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Didling

We do not move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing aren’t touched. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the following day. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths, and common reasons people contact us are worn patches where water runs and sits and a coloured bath you want in white.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Didling?

Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use dull the surface, usually first under the taps and around the waste.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating

What your quote should include

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What prep work is covered
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the colour is matched

Didling: your questions answered

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Will the bath be moved?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

Are there extra charges for Didling?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

Will there be fumes?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Didling. The price reflects:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

For a price in Didling, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.

What we cannot put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A bath split right through the body

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow most of the day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
