Bath re-enamelling in Earlswood

About our bath re-enamelling in Earlswood

We don’t move the bath, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. It normally takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Whether it’s an old resurfacing that’s failing and wear marks under the taps, we can help, on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops alike.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Repair or replace in Earlswood?

Replacing a bath normally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Read our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Avoid suction-cup mats

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take the best part of a day, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Earlswood?

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

Questions to ask before booking

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Who will actually do the work

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Earlswood. What changes the price is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material
  • How many areas need work

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

When we would advise against a repair

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
