Bath re-enamelling in Easton

Bath re-enamelling in Easton without replacing anything

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the following day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. We’re often asked to fix an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and a coloured bath you want in white, on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to most of the day, tidy-up included.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Have chips seen to early

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

What we can’t put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we work on in Easton

  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Easton: your questions answered

How long is the bath unusable?

Usually one day, with the bath ready the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Landlord and trade work in Easton

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Common problems we fix in Easton

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Several chips and rust patches
