Bath re-enamelling in Flash

About our bath re-enamelling in Flash

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we do not cut corners on it. We work on Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are an outdated colour you’d like to change and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Holes rusted through the metal

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes most of the day. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Advice

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Flash. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Flash. The price reflects:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Doing more than one item at once

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Any details about the material
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Flash questions

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Derbyshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price. There’s no obligation to book.

Do you cover Flash?

We do. We send a technician to Flash for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Will there be fumes?

Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Flash?

Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths wear the gloss away, normally first under the taps and around the waste.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off

What your quote should include

  • How to look after the finish
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
