Bath re-enamelling at your home in Greatstone-on-Sea

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we don’t cut corners on it. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and an old resurfacing that’s failing, in acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes the best part of a day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Advice

Repairing versus replacing in Greatstone-on-Sea

Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Choosing a repair company

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
