Bath re-enamelling in Green without replacing anything
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Typical jobs include an old resurfacing that’s failing and an outdated colour you’d like to change, in cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What else we do in Green
How to care for the repair
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Repair dripping taps early
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Should you replace it?
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
What you get with us
- Normally one visit, start to finish
- Same prices wherever you are
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
See our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which typically takes the best part of a day. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can usually be used the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Often the bath has just had decades of use, and only the surface is worn. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is typically as strong as ever.

- A coating lifting around the plughole
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
What your quote should include
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- How your room will be protected
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- What aftercare is recommended
