How we handle bath re-enamelling in Hampton

Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are worn patches where water runs and sits and lots of chips and rust spots.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Landlord and trade work in Hampton

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Greater London and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Hampton: your questions answered

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do you work in Hampton?

We do. Technicians travel to Hampton from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

What happens after I send photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Hampton included. Travel is included in the price.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

What affects the price in Hampton

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Hampton. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and days without a bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the whole surface without moving it. Prices start from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • No need to remove anything
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Fix dripping taps quickly

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Hampton

Many baths we resurface have simply been well used, and only the surface is worn. The body of the bath is normally perfectly sound.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • Wear marks under the taps

What to look for in a quote

  • What prep work is covered
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
