Bath re-enamelling in Houston without replacing anything
If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Common call-outs are for wear marks under the taps and stains that won’t shift, across Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Houston and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Houston: your questions answered
Are there extra charges for Houston?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
Can you price it without visiting?
Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the entire UK, including Houston and the rest of Renfrewshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes, white is the usual choice. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Will there be fumes?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

Repairing versus replacing in Houston
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Repairs by material
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
What we’re called out for in Houston
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.
Look out for any of the following:
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- An old resurfacing that is failing
Questions to ask before booking
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- Whether they match the colour on site
- How soon you can use it again
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
What we cannot put right
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Houston. The price comes down to:
- The type of damage
- How many areas need work
- The material and finish
- Doing more than one item at once
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- A photo taken from further back
- Details of any past repairs
- Something in shot to show the size
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your PA6 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
What we do, step by step
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which usually takes the best part of a day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Let us know about parking or access
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
How to get a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Houston
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Have chips seen to early
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
Treat the new finish gently at first: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
