Repair or replace in Kiltarlity?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • Fixed prices from your photos

Bath re-enamelling in Kiltarlity without replacing anything

We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the next day. We’re often asked to fix brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, in cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Common problems we fix in Kiltarlity

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

What happens on the day

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, tidy-up included.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

FAQs for Kiltarlity

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Are there extra charges for Kiltarlity?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Kiltarlity. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Will the new finish last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Typically one day, with the bath ready the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Will the bath be moved?

No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Kiltarlity. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

If you’re in Kiltarlity and want a price, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
