About our bath re-enamelling in Leyburn
We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. We regularly repair pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and common reasons people get in touch are a coloured bath you want in white and several chips and rust patches.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Aftercare tips
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Repair dripping taps early
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
What we do, step by step
Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes a full day. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Ensure the area is dry

What affects the price in Leyburn
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Leyburn. What changes the price is:
- The type of damage
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Access to the area
The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.
Send photos for a quote
You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- One picture of the whole bath
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Repair or replace: which is better?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Common questions in Leyburn
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Will there be a smell?
A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Which areas do you work in?
All of North Yorkshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
What we can’t put right
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- A bath that is rusted through
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
What we work on
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
For landlords and businesses
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Leyburn use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
