Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Bath re-enamelling in Little London without replacing anything

If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. We’re often asked to fix a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Little London as everywhere else we work.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Getting a price from pictures

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the whole bath

To get a price, send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away if a repair is the right fix.

Common questions in Little London

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a full day in most cases. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

How to compare quotes

Repair or replace in Little London?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
