Bath re-enamelling for Llandough homes

What we are called out for in Llandough

By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
  • A coating lifting around the plughole

Bath re-enamelling in Llandough, done in place

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. If you are dealing with stains that won’t shift and wear marks under the taps, we can help, whatever the material.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The material, if you know it

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What happens on the day

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes most of the day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Advice

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Llandough

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Llandough. Prices do not change with location.

Why repair rather than replace?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Llandough, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
