Bath re-enamelling in Llanelltyd, done in place
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, re-enamelling is typically the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We’re frequently asked to fix an old resurfacing that’s failing and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, in basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Questions from Llanelltyd
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
Does the bath have to be removed?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
How quickly can you book me in?
We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
You will get a fixed quote back. You’re under no obligation.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Do you cover the whole of Gwynedd?
Everywhere in the UK, Llanelltyd included. Travel is included in the price.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Llanelltyd?
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.
These are the problems we’re asked about most:
- Several chips and rust patches
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- A coloured bath you want in white
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
What to look for in a quote
- Whether the price covers travel
- Who turns up on the day
- How the colour is matched
- How soon you can use it again
What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- The material and finish
- Doing more than one item at once
- How hard the colour is to match
- What kind of damage it is
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Quotes from your photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Details of any past repairs
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
Should you replace it?
There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
What you get with us
- Same prices wherever you are
- We leave the room as we found it
- A fixed quote before booking
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
See our prices page or bath cost comparison.
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
How to look after the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Have chips seen to early
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
What we do, step by step
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes most of the day. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.
Before we arrive
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know about parking or access
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
