Bath re-enamelling in Low Entercommon

Bath re-enamelling in Low Entercommon without replacing anything

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Common call-outs are for a peeling or bubbling previous coating and a coloured bath you want in white, across cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Repair or replace in Low Entercommon?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Low Entercommon clients choose us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

What we’re called out for in Low Entercommon

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • An old resurfacing that is failing

10 questions to ask before you book

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

FAQs for Low Entercommon

Do you work in Low Entercommon?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Low Entercommon. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

What happens on the day

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes most of the day. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
