Trusted bath re-enamelling in Marfleet

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Marfleet?

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

What your quote should include

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Aftercare advice
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

How to compare quotes

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Marfleet

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths, and people most often call us about an original cast iron bath that needs restoring and chips and rust in more than one place.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Marfleet

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Are there extra charges for Marfleet?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Do you cover Marfleet?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Marfleet from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, most people go for white. Mention the colour you want when you send pictures.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Repair or replace: which is better?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A picture taken from further back

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes most of the day. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in Marfleet, and we will reply with a fixed price.
