Bath Re-enamelling in Mells
We travel to Mells for full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing. Everything is done in place, and the work is guaranteed.
- Resurfacing from £350

- An old resurfacing that’s failing

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Mells
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Common call-outs are for chips and rust in more than one place and a roll-top that’s seen better days, across Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we work on in Mells
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

The process
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
Related advice
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The colour and finish to match
A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your pictures
Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:
- A picture taken from further back
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.
Mells questions
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK. Prices don’t change with location.
Is there a smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.
Do you cover Mells?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Mells and the rest of Somerset. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Does the bath have to be removed?
Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
