Questions from Millhalf
Does re-enamelling smell?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Can you make a coloured bath white?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes, frequently. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
What happens after I send pictures?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
What information do you need?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
About our bath re-enamelling in Millhalf
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. You end up with a smooth, glossy surface. Typical jobs include stains that won’t shift and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, in Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

DIY kit or professional repair?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Millhalf
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. We strip what’s failing and start again.

What else we do in Millhalf
Should you replace it?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why Millhalf customers choose us
- One visit for most repairs
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- A year’s guarantee on all work

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The size and number of damaged areas
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
For landlords and businesses
Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
When a repair is not the answer
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Holes rusted through the metal
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
Materials we repair
- Victorian roll-tops

What happens on the day
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take most of the day, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Make sure the area is dry
Get a quote
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
